A maintenance cleaning can sometimes dry within approximately 2 to 4 hours. Heavily soiled carpet that requires more cleaning may take approximately 8 to 12 hours. Drying depends on the carpet, soil level, humidity and airflow. Air conditioning during humid summer weather and good air movement can help.

The longer a substance remains in the carpet, the greater the chance that it can permanently affect the carpet fibre or colour. Yes. Pet accidents may require spot treatment, sanitizing and additional extraction. When contamination has travelled through the carpet into the backing or underpad, surface cleaning alone may not solve the entire problem. We assess the affected area and explain what treatment is appropriate.
We normally ask customers to pre-vacuum, especially after moving furniture. Vacuuming removes dry soil, loose debris and pet hair before wet cleaning begins. Pre-vacuuming can also be provided by request for an additional charge.
Yes, but anything contacting the damp carpet should be clean. We normally provide booties for people in the home so necessary foot traffic can be kept clean while the carpet finishes drying.
A household with several family members and pets may benefit from professional cleaning about every six months. A lower-traffic household without pets may find approximately once a year is sufficient. Actual frequency depends on use, pets, children, soil and the condition of the carpet.
Usually not. Aggressive scrubbing can distort the carpet pile and spread the affected area. Fresh spills are generally better blotted carefully with a clean absorbent material rather than heavily scrubbed.
A spill can sometimes travel below the visible carpet fibres into the backing, underpad or other material below the surface. Moisture moving upward during drying can carry some contamination back toward the carpet surface. This is commonly called wicking.
